Gabe Davies


Gabe has worked as a producer, consultant, cameraman and star on many TV and film productions for 18 years. Gabe produced and starred in the award-winning short film BEYOND THE SCARS commissioned by Channel 4’s Shooting Gallery 2013. The short was selected in the top 8 for the shorts prize at the Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival in September 2013. Gabe had a key role in WAVERIDERS as a professional big wave surfer and consultant. He presented the Channel 4 series SURF TRIP alongside Tess Daly. Gabe’s BBC VIDEO DIARY attracted over 2 million viewers. He produced the award-winning short film FATHOMS LEFT TO FALL and a 26-minute LES TROIS ETAPES TV programme for Eurosport. Gabe will co-produce Lola Cove Film’s feature THE UNDERTOW. He is also Britain’s top professional big wave surfer.


Lauren Davies

Writer / Producer

Lauren wrote the original feature screenplay for THE UNDERTOW with development support from Creative England, Northern Film & Media and Film 4 under the Film 4ward scheme. She wrote the BAFTA-nominated, multi media game I AM PLAYR, winner of a Cannes Gold Lion 2012 that now has over 10 million players. The first film she wrote was the multi award-winning feature documentary WAVERIDERS, winner of IFTA Best Feature Doc 2009 and the Dublin Film Festival Audience Award 2009 with theatrical and DVD release. She co-produced BEYOND THE SCARS for Channel 4’s Shooting Gallery. Lauren wrote CLOUD 9 about world surfing champion Kelly Slater, achieving 877 hours of worldwide TV, and the TONY HAWK SHOW TV doc. She began as a novelist, publishing WATER WINGS, ANGEL ON AIR, SERVE COOL with Time Warner Books. These novels and 2 new books will shortly be published on Kindle by Amazon. In 2012 Lauren was chosen for the BFI’s Think-Shoot-Distribute course at the London Film Festival. Lauren is represented by Curtis Brown (UK) and ICM, New York.
